Situated perfectly in between the center of Downtown Palm Springs and the serene San Jacinto Mountains in the historic Tennis Club District, Talavera embraces old school charm with an eclectic flair in a lush tropical setting. The property has been a notable hotel destination since the 1920’s, originally known as “The Wigwam.”

Each of our spacious suites boasts a private patio and jacuzzi, allowing the guest experience to become one that is truly secluded and restorative. Each suite has a different “personality” and is decorated with antiques from around the world as well as both local and international artwork. Talavera is a blend of elegant and funky, tranquil and exciting.

The Grounds

The property is surrounded by 180 degree views of the stunning San Jacinto Mountains. Lush, green tropical foliage and desert flowers work together to create an unexpected yet fitting setting for a desert hideaway.

Our grounds consist of two full sized swimming pools; a sun-soaked main pool with full sun from the early morning until the evening, and a lounge pool shaded by towering bamboo and tropical foliage.

Each suite feels private and secluded with its own outside area and jacuzzi hot tub, yet the common grounds also share in the same privacy and tranquility, never feeling busy or crowded.

The Neighborhood

Located in the famous and historic Tennis Club District, the neighborhood is quiet and mostly residential, yet located just steps away from all the Downtown action. There’s no need to drive to dinner or for sightseeing; most guests leave their cars parked at the hotel and don’t move it their entire stay.

Talavera is walking distance from the many restaurants, bars, and shops on Palm Canyon Drive, The Palm Springs Art Museum, and numerous hikes and view points. It is also just a short drive to the famous Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to take in the views from 8500 feet above! For something a bit more grounded, walking tours to view Palm Springs’ famous mid-century architecture happen all around Talavera as well.

Sunset hacienda

A Cal-King suite with separate living room, dining room, and kitchenette with stovetop. Opens into a large private patio with jacuzzi hot tub and mountain views. Bathroom with jacuzzi bath tub with separate shower. Design inspired by the shimmering radiance of the sunset.

Velvet hacienda

A richly colored studio suite that opens to the main pool area. Seating area and coffee table, along with breakfast table in the fully-stocked kitchenette area. French doors open to a large private patio and jacuzzi hot tub with stunning mountain views. Design inspired by the rich and colorful tropics of French Haiti.

Sunflower hacienda

A Cal-King suite with separate living room, dining room, and kitchenette with stovetop. Opens into a large private patio with jacuzzi hot tub and unobstructed mountain views. Jacuzzi bath tub with separate shower. Designed with warmth and comfort in mind.

Sedona hacienda

A Cal-King suite with separate living room. French doors open up to the main pool area. Bedroom opens to private patio with lounge area and private hot tub jacuzzi. Large bathroom with jacuzzi bathtub and separate glass shower.

Gold hacienda

A spacious studio suite with vaulted ceilings, rustic Moroccan design elements, and a private patio with jacuzzi hot tub that opens to the main courtyard of the hotel. Seating area with sectional sofa. A large, spacious bathroom with jacuzzi tub and separate glass shower. Luxurious fabrics and patterns of gold and orange throughout.

Fountain hacienda

A premiere apartment suite with approximately 2000 SF of indoor/outdoor space and a private entrance. The living room and bedroom open to a wrap-around patio with stunning views and secluded lounge areas, personal outdoor hot tub, a shady veranda, citrus and olive trees, and tranquil sounds of the flowing fountain. A true Mediterranean oasis.

Ranch hacienda

French doors of the Cal-King bedroom open wide to a spacious private patio and lawn with stunning views, private jacuzzi hot tub, and sunbathing and lounge areas. This suite boasts original architectural features, including rustic arched doorways and vintage tiled bathroom, and separate dressing area and vanity. Inspired by the simple elegance of Old Hollywood.

Kasbah hacienda

This suite’s Cal-King bedroom opens wide to a shaded patio with large sectional seating and private jacuzzi hot tub. Seating area with original artwork. Large premium bathroom with jacuzzi tub and separate shower.

Luna hacienda

Introducing the Luna Hacienda; a newly remodeled one-bedroom suite at Talavera. With a rustic, simple elegance and views of the San Jacinto Mountains from the living room, this luxurious suite is both impressive and comfortable. The Luna Hacienda features a Cal-King bed with grand glass doors leading right into your private patio and jacuzzi hot tub.

Coba hacienda

Introducing the Coba Hacienda; a newly remodeled one-bedroom suite at Talavera. Inspired by the tropical and ultra-chic towns surrounding the ancient Mayan city of Coba, Mexico, this suite will set you into vacation mode instantly. Equipped with a fully stocked kitchenette, Cal King bed, and indoor-outdoor shower leading right out to your private patio and jacuzzi hot tub, this suite has all the comforts of being your home away from home.

Puka hacienda

Introducing the Puka Hacienda; a newly remodeled one-bedroom suite at Talavera. Puka was created with our love of Hawaii in mind, along with one of our very favorite pastimes; picking Puka shells along the beach! Aside from the fully stocked kitchenette, indoor/outdoor shower, and private patio and hot tub. What we love most about this suite is what's right outside your front door - the property's smaller, more intimate, Tranquility pool (which is heated at 86 degrees and always open for swimming, by the way).
